BONJOUR!
Je m'appelle Martine.
Je suis française.
Je viens de Normandie.
When I came to England (many moons ago) I resolved to get a better knowledge of the English language.
I DID! THEN I TOOK UP TEACHING FRENCH.
As we all know, the English language evolved from the fusion of Anglo-Saxon with French. This explains why English contains so many words of French origin.
In order to fully appreciate the beauty of the English language,
it helps a lot to get better acquainted with French.
Striving for a fair command of French can open a lot of doors. For example: If you are still very young, a good GCSE grade in French will improve your job prospects. Should you decide to take A-Level French, a good grade will help you get into the University of your choice.
Then, if you have a degree and apply for a job, your knowledge
of French will enhance your career prospects.
Young or old, we tend to take justified pride in our skill of being able to communicate in another language.
The doctors tell us to keep our brain active long before reaching retirement age. A good way to put this advice into practice is to engage in mental activities that act as a challenge to our intellectual prowess, eg expressing ourselves in French by speaking the language.
More importantly still, keeping our brain active also defers - by a surprising number of years - the dreaded day when our "little grey cells" start to get rusty. Indeed, for a great many retirees that dreaded day will never dawn as a result of their determination to keep body and brain active.

! ! ! NEW FOR 2015 ! ! !
So as to make 'how to converse in French' available to a wider public, SAY IT IN FRENCH classes will be held at the Crowborough Community Centre at 9.15 am on Fridays, starting Friday 6th February.
Having given up teaching French at Crowborough's Beacon College and concentrating on giving private French tuition to adults as well as young students ever since, my tried and tested method of helping them to actually speak the language has convinced even the most tongue-tied how simple it all really is.
Although regular participation assures more rapid progress, it is not an essential requirement as each one-hour session revolves around a new situation occurring in everyday life.
This arrangement allows you to take part when you wish and as often as you wish.
Session fees are £6pp. For multiple session discounts or other info please call 01892 - 66 32 32
